Researching New Glasgow Connections

Hello from Vancouver Island!!
I am writing to inquire about a family of settlers in the New Glasgow area. My Father always knew he'd been adopted, but never expressed an interest in his birth parents until now.

I have not found a reference to a Father for him yet, but his Mother's name was Emily Hesse of New Glasgow. I have found what I can on the Ancestry website, but wanted to find out more -- any newspapers or other resources that might be from that area? I found some notes on your site regarding the Saint John Anglican Cemetery where I believe most of that side of the family is buried. Is there any more information on that cemetery available?

My Dad was born in 1936, spent three years in an orphanage, and was adopted by the Hills family. He was raised as an anglophone, but was strong in french growing up which served him well in his military career. He has retired, and lives in Comox on Vancouver Island.

Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Warm regards,
Kevin Hills, BC
