July 07, 2018

July 7 is Canada Historic Places Day: a national celebration to encourage Canadians to visit historic places close to home.

On Canada Historic Places Day 2017, Canadians joined the national celebration by visiting participating historic places near them. They discovered cultural, Indigenous, and social history across the country. We're inviting you – fans of history and historic site owners – to join us in celebrating historic places in 2018! As you plan your summer, we encourage you to add Canada Historic Places Day to your calendar.

Stay tuned for more details, such as information on next year's contest.

Registration for historic sites will be open in March. In the meantime, feel free to learn about last year’s event at or contact Julie Normandeau, Manager of Sites and Partnerships for the National Trust for Canada here.

We look forward to sending you more details as they become available!
